Millenarian acacia before the fire
Millenarian acacia after the fire
Not only Notre Dame burned today. The largest, and oldest tree at Umm al-Dabadib, the millenarian acacia that grew along the western side of the Northern Settlement, was reduced to ashes by a fire that must have lasted several days.

Despite the brave efforts of Essam, Ahmed Farrag, Ayman, Bahaa and the Chief Inspector Mohamed Ibrahim, the tree burned to its root. We do not know what triggered the fire.
